Why do we have a soft spot for these old full sized, body on frame cop cars? Sure they weren't fast but we like them a whole lot.
I'm most curious about these Diplomats/Gran Furys. I really don't know much about the M-Body Mopars. I've read that this was the de facto king of cop cars in the early 80's. All I know is, lots of agencies used these and they were well recieved.
It would appear the LTD Crown Victoria was the least popular of the box body behemoths. In looking for pictures, I had a difficult time looking for pre-facelift Vics on patrol although the Chicago Police Department seemed to like them. It was far from being the dominant Vic we know and love.
Perhaps my personal favorite. For some reason, I'm attracted to this the most. For me, it looks like the toughest among the trio. It also looks really neat in black and white and NYPD blue! The B-Body was perhaps the only car used by both the LAPD and the NYPD. (Anyone's free to correct me on that)
Among the three, which would you pick? Which would you riddle with bullets? Any stories about these big boxes would be fantastic!

The earlier Dodge Monaco was probably my favorite. I've got a thing with the Fury/Diplomat though.

The Dodge, using a Grampa-special Landau. But I'm flummoxed as to how to get the 5-speed in there.

I wouldn't riddle them with bullets. Their fate is too wallow up and down endlessly on their "cop suspension" and fly into ditches and ponds while some chump with a fake mustache speeds away in a '70s-'80s Malaise muscle car.

I'd agree on the Caprice. Looks toughest of them all.

Or a career in the music industry perhaps?
Oddly enough, they used a different car in the album art

Because you weren't alive when they existed.
They're awful cars. Truly terrible.

A 5 on the tree would sound novel for that. Probably snaggy too

You're not wrong. Despite my screen name, the LTD Crown Vic is my favorite (that might be because of Men in Black). Unfortunately it's impossible to find one now that doesn't have a landau roof.

Maybe the truck transmission. At that point in time I'd say the dimensions were the same. Then you have the option of making it 4x4. It would be awful, incapable of doing any of the original intended purposes of its components. Dear Roadkill..

The Ramlomat would make for a great Roadkill nickname

Going too fast over a speed bump in a full size stretch Dodge Van is an experience. Nothing fell off.
